    WOT 2-3 won't shift....Russ K

I've had this issue for two years now, finally had a chance to look at it. This thing will not shift WOT on the 2-3 shift. I've tried zeroing out the MPH table and shift on RPM, nothing. I've tried zeroing out the RPM table and shifting on the MPH, nothing. I've scanned and tried to narrow it down, lowering mph, lowering rpm, nothing. Can somebody look at this and tell me why it won't shift 2-3 wot, everything else is great, 1-2 works fine at WOT but nothing else. All I need to do is just lightly let off and it will shift.

I've attached my stock (intense racing tune) and my current tune . 3.69 gears, yank 3000 stall, built trans and 255/45/18 tires. Thanks

Post the stock tune. Were the stock tires 225/60/16?

Only tune i have is the intense tune, i've attached a 99 gs tune from the repository. Ya, 225/60/16 were the stockers, I run 26" slicks at the track so i'm hoping I can set this up to shift by RPM. I've tried lowering the shift rpm to 5600, i know it'll shift 1-2 there, so maybe 2-3 and zeroing out the mph tables.

I think i got it, ended up zeroing out the WOT shift speed and lowered the WOT RPM by 500 RPM. Now i'll have dial it up to shift right before the limiter on the 2-3. Shift seems slow however on that 2-3 WOT shift.

Give this trans tune a try. Note that you posted a 1999 Regal tune, I used a 1998 Regal GS tune from the repository to compare.

Never had to zero the WOT shift speed tables. Does your trans have a shift kit installed?

Then the shifts will be too hard. I may have to reduce the shift pressures.

Russ pressures seem fine, for some reason though the 2-3 WOT is still mushy and slow, RPM set at 5650 and it shifts right around 6100 but is slow. I see the pressure is at 96, what else can be done? It has new clutches and everything .

As you can see, I added a lot of shift pressure to your tune. Plus you have a shift kit, this should make for very hard shifts. Check the trans line pressure. There has to be a trans mechanical problem.

Is the 2-3 shift soft in performance mode as well?

I haven't tried in normal, usually when i'm on it the trans is set for performance mode. I'll talk to the guy that built it and see what he thinks. Thanks for the help

I think the pressures might have killed her, took the car for a drive two days ago (night before the going to the strip) ran good, shifted good. Got up the next day, loaded the car (slicks, tools, etc.), pulled out the driveway and bang, wouldn't shift. Now i get a code for a stuck 2-3 and a 1-2 solenoid stuck on. The tranny is also whining pretty loud now as well. She only lasted two track visits and about 1-year since the build.
