    Can Vortec 350 fuel injection...??

    Hello Tuning guru's.

Can the Vortec 350 L31 fuel injection still function without the crank position sensor in the timing cover? Relying solely on the distributor trigger/cam position to fire the injectors, alot like how aftermarket F.I. set-ups work or the GM L98 TPI injection.

    Computer is a LS1 based 0411 type pcm using a tune from a 2002 G-van

If so, what in the tune needs to be changed?

I know LT1 guys are removing/deleting the CKP to run double roller chains. But I'm not sure if the L31 uses the CKP strickly for missfire purposes or for injector timing...

Custom stuff, and I'm exploring my options.

    Cheers ~Mykk

No the crank reluctor wheel a crank positions ensor must be working for the Vortecs to run.

you need the sensor/wheel but it doesn't have to be there

i have seen a replacment wheel machined and tackwelded on the balancer and a little bracket holds the sensor

yess, you can have the sensor/wheel anywhere(as long its driven somehow via the crank), so long as the signals are sent to the PCM.
