Tcc question
Tcc apply/release speed vs tps table
the numbers represent mph correct ? so why in 2nd apply always like 254 256 or in the 125 range wouldnt you want the numbers lower to lock the converter. couldnt find anything to explain this. anyone

For others that find this question, ill post a short answer:
On a stock converter & transmission, you do not want to lockup the converter in 2nd gear, especially when you go wide open. That is the big no-no. I, personally, have torn a converter clutch to smitherenes doing douchey stuff like that on the stock converter. So basically setting that table to a speed that is unreasonably high for the gear you're looking at will disable the lockup. Just to be safe though, set it to 256 to completely disable it with absolutely no chance of wheelspin necessitating a lockup because of the mph increase.
Btw, nice avatar :-P

There should be less stress on the TCC in 2nd gear in 3rd gear due to the gear advantage 2nd gear has over 3rd.
The stock tunes lock the TCC at WOT in 3rd gear.
Why would 2nd be worse? The 4l80e's lock in 2nd gear.

The torque in 2nd and the size of the factory clutch in the converter will have alot to do with lockup in 2nd as well.
