    flashing new computer

    Ok, this may be a very simple question, however I want to verify with the people "in the know" before I move forward.

    I bought a new (used) ecm for my HHR. Since it's a fairly universal part, it actually came out of a totally different vehicle. I want to flash it with my stock setup and then bag it and put it on the shelf in case of an emergency.

    As it is a totally different car setup right now, can I still plug it into my HHR and rewrite the flash with my setup? Will I need to do anything special to do this?

    If you wanted a "copy" of your stock ECM, you could put it in and do a Write Entire of your stock program. Don't forget to put the VIN in there as well...

    I've try one time to replace the PCM with other vechicle but i have too much problem they are written here
