Well I finally was able to get the car out to the track and see if it launches straight. It worked, it launched straight as an arrow. Seems the air bag that was left in there accidentilly was the culprit to the swaying to the left condition. The rear suspension was settling on the rear spring, but when the passenger's side bottomed out on the air bag, the left side still dropped more. This caused the car to sway to the left. The track was not at all prepped, I looked down the strip to find any hints of rubber ... nothing but white concrete. I lined her up as best as I could and asked her to take it easy on the launch. The officials also said not to go hard, it might be very dangerous, since we didn't know if the swaying was fixed at this point. The weather conditions were:
DA = 1766'
temp = 39 degrees
baro = 30.22 in/Hg
hum = 79%
alt = 2710'
1st Pass:
60' = 1.801
330 = 4.997
1/8 = 7.670
mph = 91.949
1000 = .000
1/4 = 11.995
mph = 112.207
After that I aired down the PSI to 14, strapped on the video camera (you guys will love this clip), and hooked up the HPTuners. She also left harder off the line:
2nd Pass:
60' = 1.904
330 = 5.043
1/8 = 7.637
mph = 94.632
1000 = .000
1/4 = 11.793
mph = 118.362
3rd Pass:
60' = 1.750
330 = 4.809
1/8 = 7.380
mph = 95.231
1000 = .000
1/4 = 11.523
mph = 118.462
4th Pass:
60' = 1.714 (went sidways, track was too slippery)
330 = 4.869
1/8 = 7.486
mph = 94.072
1000 = .000
1/4 = 11.672
mph = 117.260
After that we headed home. Tonight we might hit up Irwindale Dragway (1/8 mile) if the weather behaves. Here is where the traction is better and could net some low 7s.
