Say for instance I found some random table and modified it in hex. Wouldn't I have to fix the checksum or do something like that before reuploading? If so, how do I do it?
Thanks.

Yes you would have to recalc a checksum, or disable it. Either of which I do not know how to do on OBD-I vehicles. :-/

Hmm, how about Tunercat's checksum tool. Would that work?
If they support the BIN i believe it would.. but i'm not certain. Best to e-mail them for confirmation.

Yea, bin files is what Tunercat uses. They are probably raw too because for older cars I can read a chip in an EPROM programmer then open in directly in tunercat.
What I mean is if they support the LT1 files.
BIN is just short for binary... pretty similar to RAW. RAW is just a straight dump, BIN is just a straight dump.

yes tunercat can recalc them.
winbin also can and I'm pretty sure most editor ones will work ok.
You can also do it manually if you have ALOT of time! I used to know the formula but my brain has a memory leak..

If you change the ID byte of the BIN (say $EE, $42, $8D etc) to $AA, the checksum error is ignored.Originally Posted by caesar
$AA is the engineering ID byte. Good for quick testing, bad idea for everyday use.
Where abouts can I get this tuner cat software???
