Has anyone reprogram the GM OBDII PCM Other than carputing???
DHP does it. I know charles reads this board every once in a while. I was at his house a few days ago. He's pretty hard core OBD-II... just a very busy guy like most of us.
We got this guy Not Sure, ...
Anybody with a Tech2 and this software to read the Flash Card.

I meant custom programming
That is custom programming.Originally Posted by The Highlander
They are just using the Tech2 to read/write the flash.
The flash card is then read into the pc with that software.
Everything else is done to the binary file, then reloaded.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by custom.
Editing the file you read from the tech 2
How do you read it???
Let me know
Thanks

I am not sure why you made ref. to that site.

does the tech 2 use a regular flash card? I always heard that the contents of the card for the tech 2 were encrypted in the device itself - or is it just the GM update files that are encrypted?
If a regular flash card will work that would be sweet! But I cant find a reference to a tech 2 on that site ???

Hi Guys
The T2 uses a simple memory card... but there is a impossible security function. With the soft (or others like it) you can read/mod/copy the data on it. I know a friend of a friend...
There are guys all over the net that are offering updates for 40$ but....they need your card to do it.
My local hacker tryed to make a copy with the exact same card (new)but it didn't work, but to dump files from one oem card to another oem is no problem (updates) This applys for the 10 meg and 32 meg cards
Basically you take the T2 to download the FLASH (inside pcm), remove the memory card then use the other soft to read the whole contents. Make adjustments, then reload, the same way as if you just replaced the PCM with a new one.
Now after many month of poking and prodding, asking questions....all I know is it is not easy to do, programming side. I don't really know if he ment the mods to the flash or the other soft he uses...
I had this guy lock down top speed for a couple delivery truck for me,Ford and GM both OBD2
Sorry couldn'd help more but this guys knows I like to play with cars and he won't give me the info
Cheers
If so a standard card reader would work. I always thought the info off the card was encrypted though. Making it nearly impossibly to crack, modify, and reload..
anybody know if it is encrypted?
