Here are the observations:

Immediately after the engine catches there is a brief lag before the engine flares and begins idling at cold start. This occurs in the matter of a second or so.

Engine is cold. Go to start. Crank. Engine 'catches' or fires, then it immediately dies. Crank again. Engine fires, starts, and idles. So, it doesn't work the first time, only the second.

What I'm looking for:

I'm looking for tables or values that effect this time frame just after the engine starts. I think if I could just let the starter crank a bit longer instead of it being tripped off by some start signal I would fix the problem, but only testing would confirm. So, at this time I'm looking for anything that i can fiddle with in this time period.

2008 Chevy Impala 3.9L (I'm not running on gasoline)

Hope you all can help.
