Im in the process of purchasing a 99 Silverado. I know the 99-00 PCMs had some issues. A friend of mine has his old PCM from his 01 or 02 hes going to let me have.
Im currious if I can overwrite his VIN with mine, or if I need to find someone with a TECH2?
Also his was a 3/4 ton with the 4l80e, and mine will have the 4l60 for now. Is this something I can just overwrite with a stock 4.8 tune?
My main issue is the VIN.
I tried the search feature, but was still confused.
You would need to license the pcm and the file you want to flash to the pcm using the vin/vats/tunerlock feature & follow the vin change key on/off procedure so that it sticks.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

So, I will be able to change the VIN, and only use up 2 credits correct?
