I'm planning on buying a wideband, but not sure where to look.
Can someone point me to manufacturers and what to look for? I hope it can work with HPT. I also don't want to spend 700 bucks if I don't need to.
Thanks,

dynojet or innovate LC-1

www.innovatemotorsports.com lm1 or lc1 will both do the trick...lc1 is only $199 w/ sensor included.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

is your HPT cable EIO enabled??? If so it'll work great... and you can use the histograms for wideband and everything
If not you can use Innovate's new logworks program to log data to your laptop... would be a bit more difficult though since you can't match RPM to MAP/MAF to TPS to AFR and such...

Not yet. I plan to purchase that once I get the wideband. Once I install the larger injectors, I want to watch this whether or not it is in HPT right away or not, doesn't matter.Originally Posted by horist
Does the LC1 come with a gauge or would that need to be purchased separately? Is the logworks program free?
I'll be checking the website and sending emails to innovative, but figured I get a quicker answer here
Thanks again for puttin' up with the noob questions!!!!
get the eio...logworks is free but you'd need the rpm converter to match the rpms to the readings...eio does it for you in one neat little program

the plx 500 looks like a great unit & all but the eio & 2.0 do everything it can do & more for less $$$.

Thanks everyone for their input on this matter. I just want to make sure I understand everything I would need, so I don't get any surprises.
1. Enhanced IO Interface -
I guess I return my old unit but still pay 150$? do I need to send my old unit or is there a discount?
2. The LC-1 lambda cable.

From what i can tell, the kit includes a Bosch Sensor:

I assume, with these, and after the installation of a bung before my cat, all should be good to go to read my afr's using HPTuners. What's the best location for the o2?
Will it be simple to add a gauge for when I'm not plugged in to the laptop? Any suggestions on gauges?
Thanks IA!!!!
dynotune.org offers some pretty good deals on innovate products and gauges... every once in a while they offer a sale on ls1tech.com (wb o2 is wb02 so doesn't mean because it's on ls1tech it's ls1 specific)
I believe dynotune sends their LC1s preconfigured for thier gauges

something else to remember with any wideband...and easily edit on the LC1 and LM1...
is to change the sample rate of the wideband to coser to what the scanner is doing...
on the LC1/LM1 they tend to be more accurate at 1/12 of a second instead of instant response...
the reason being that at instant it samples 300 times a second and picks up individual gas pockets and the scanner wil see them as exactly as it reports..which could lead to a false lean condition
with setting it at 1/12 it is still faster than the standard 10 frames/second...and reads more accurately as teh output from the LC1/LM1 is now an average over that 1/12 of a second time...
you can also change them to 1/6th and 1/3rd of a second
teh response on all of theese settings is based on the 1/12 per second..it just takes 2 samples and averages them on 1/6th and 4 samples on teh 1/3 responses..
this will lead to a much better and more accurate Air Fuel reading with wideband devices...especially with ones liek teh LC1 and LM1 that can read much faster than tehg scaner and the scanner will read teh exact reading at that moment

So I bought the wideband and plan to begin install this weekend. For now I'll use the logworks program that came with it until I can afford another 150 bucks for the HPT EIO.
Is there any problems with using a wideband during the winter? It's -3*C right now with lots of snow.
Thanks,
