While I am awaiting the delivery of my recently ordered HPT software & cable, is there a way to download or receive by e-mail the help file so I can start learning how to use the software?

BTW, I tried the link for the help file that runs a program with .CHE extension with no luck. What program opens that?

right click on the program and select properties. then check the unlock box

You will have to re-create your VCM Scanner config files. There is way too much power in 2.0 to support the old 1.x config file formats.

I uninstalled 1.7 using the HPT uninstaller. Installed 2.x but now I have lost the Flash program....

In your HP Tuners folder in Programs, you should see:

VCM Editor
VCM Scanner
VCM Suite Help.

The help should have a blue question mark type icon. The help files have information as to why the VCM Flash is now integrated into VCM Editor.

Is there ANY issues with running 1.7x and 2.x so two different cables can be used on the same laptop?

I am buying a cable with 1.7x support only. Expired update... My cable is on 2.0. However, I want to be able to switch between the two cover more year models of V8..

Same situation here, missed the expiration date by 1 month. I still think this sux since I paid $500 for one car and have upgraded my cable for 2 additional vehicles. Now with a total on 6 vehicles between to cables the cars I really do the most, my Z28 and Corvette, I'm stuck with 1.7 The old timers get hosed...

You should still be able to run both..

but file assocations will be broken, as well as the HP Tuners folder in start->Programs.

The other issue is increased love for 2.x and less desire to run 1.x software.

Theres not enough "love" to buy an expired cable from someone, then turn around and spend another $99 to upgrade it to 2.x...

While the V8 guys continue to get the "love" support, the V6 tuneable parameters do not look to have increased in 2.x, and I am hoping that the data logging is finally worked out on the tuning parameters that already exist. IF I am missing the OSID expanded support of tuning features, please feel free to direct me to the information that outlines this.

If HPT does not support the 4 cylinder EcoTec 2.0 Supercharged package in the near future, I think this will also be a community left behind in tuning.

Loyde, fwiw, V6's received more parameters in 2.0 than V8's.

V8's received 0 new parameters with 2.0 over 1.7

Cool. I'll have to keep searching. So far I haven't found any, but have been primarily focused on the scanner.

We only added 1.. MAF Fail freq.. We added it to most of the major V6 calibrations.

That's still more than the 0 we added for the V8's.

Ok, I did find that one now for the 99 file I have.. I already had that one however for the 04 files..

Keith, did work go into the histograms and PIDs for the V6?

Yea, V6 histograms should now be completely functional with no user interaction.

You can even use the same histograms as the V8 guys do. Most of them are interchangeable.

also now that they are customizable you dont have to settle for the map ending at 140...you can set it to end at 200 or what have you...like my gtp will read up to 190 on most runs...so it would log everything the same from 140+ as long as it was in the same rpm column...now you can see more accuratly whats going on.
