    Avast! Antivirus false positive

Starting this morning Avast is reporting the Suite as infected when I try to open the scanner or editor on two different computers after the definitions updated. I have submitted it to Avast as a false positive.

2.23 Beta downloaded in early May.

Looks like it, I added the folders to the exceptions list for now but still get the alert & quarantine of the files.

Disable Avast while you run HPT I guess for now.

I had this problem myself yesterday, everytime I tried to do something with the Editor or Scanner AVAST would get in the way.

Still had the issue after this mornings update here, but got it added to the shields exceptions today and it's working fine again without disabling Avast.

Go into File system shields, click on expert settings, Exclusions and add the HP Tuners folders to the exceptions. After that I can open the scanner & editor fine.

Yep, got this problem with the latest version of avast.

I just disable it when I use editor or scanner. Still pretty homo, IMO.

Its done this for some time now. I thought new DATs would make it go away but it didn't. I ended up removing it recently when Ad Aware found several trojans that Avira did not.

Sorry, I meant Avira, not Avast. I edited my post.

Just an FYI...Avast updated again today and I removed the Avast HPT exceptions and HPT opens fine once again.

The update seems to have worked, but I still have it in the exceptions folder regardless.
