    Quick question...

OK, I'm making the switch from a Diablo Trinity to HP Tuners and have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to (or I'd just like to get clarification on). I'd like to keep my "edited" Diablo tune that I've worked on for the last few months (currently in my VCM) until I get my hands around tweaking with HP, but I'd also like to pull my stock tune out to save a copy of.

I found a reply to a thread that suggested pretty much exactly what I had planned on doing, but I'm wondering if I'll have to liscense both tune files? Here's the suggestion:

    2) Put back the original Corvette tune stored in the Predator, and call it your stock Corvette tune and put in its own file.

    3) Now you have two tunes to compare the differences, and your Predator is unlocked. You can proceed to use the Predator tune as your base tune if you like but first do a save as Predator Tune XXX and start with that.

Also, judging by this comment in the "help" file, it looks like I'll only have to use one liscense:

    For example:
When working with your own vehicle, you will almost always read the vehicle first.
After the read, you will be prompted to license the vehicles file.
Now you have a license for your vehicle and all files you read from it.

The way I read this is after I pull and save the Diablo tune, I can reinstall the stock tune via the Trinity and then pull it from the car and save it as well?..

    Thanks for any help...

You will only have to license it once. The license isn't for the individual files... it's for that PCM.

-Read the file from the car with HP Tuners and save it.
-Reflash to stock with the Trinity.
-Read the stock file from the car with HP Tuners and save that too.

I thought that was the case... just wanted to verify before I moved on. I appreciatte the quick response, maybe I'll actually get to use this thing today.

Just being cautious, just don't want to screw anything up or cost myself any unnecessary credits.

Understandable. You're pretty much boned if you accidentally use some.
