    LC-1 PID

Quick question to the people in the know...when I select the LC-1 PID on the HPT scanner, what is that thing set up to read? Is it the Innovate factory settings for the analog output 2? The 1-2V, 7.35-22.39 AFR? Or do I need to reprogram my LC-1 outputs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: LC-1 PID

...and if you can't answer the above question, could you at least tell me what I should tell the LC-1 to send out for its analog signal? I'm assuming it is a linear 0-5V that HPT is looking for...

    Thanks again.

    Re: LC-1 PID

Sorry, but I'm trying to be the most popular guy in this thread...I just found in the LC-1 manual where there is a discrepancy in what they are saying analog out 2 does. In one place, it is 1-2V, linear, representing 7.35-22.39 AFR. Towards the end of the manual, they say that it is a 0-5V signal, also linear, still representing 7.35-22.39 AFR.

Guess I need to dig in there myself, but I just can't get my laptop to recognize the signal from it. Back to the drawing board.

    Re: LC-1 PID

Well, I finally got my computer to recognize the damn LC-1, and I've come to the conclusion that the LC-1 PID is set up to work with the analog output 2 just as it came from the factory (which is 0-5V linear, showing 7.35-22.39 AFR).

I recalibrated my LC-1 to output from 10-20 AFR, linear, 0-5V, and set up a new PID in HPT's scanner, and it reads the same AFR I had before with the other setup. The LC-1 PID now reads lower, so it is not setup to read 10-20 AFR.

Hope that helps some of you out. You should be able to plug the LC-1 analog out 2 right in to HPT and as long as you have the LC1 PID selected (I have version 1.7), it should be showing you the correct value.

so what your saying is to set up user defined and plug in 7.35-22.39??

    sorry for lame question.

    Re: LC-1 PID

From what I can tell, yes. I'd really need someone from the HPT team to verify this, as I can't tell how that PID was set up. I would feel comfortable leaving it as it was though (with the LC1 factory analog 2 programming and HPT PID as set).

    Re: LC-1 PID

i called innovate and they are checking for me, will call back in 1 hour.
apparentley the lc1 and the lm1 outputs are different so..cannot use the predifined lm1 for a lc1.

if your correct on the prevouis question it is easy to set up. 0 volts = 7.XX 5 volts = 22.XX name it and that is it.

ill let you know what innovates says when they call back

    Re: LC-1 PID

Don't worry about calling them...I did that yesterday. They confirmed what I typed above. 0-5V, 7.35-22.39 AFR, linear.

    Re: LC-1 PID

If you would like the VCM Suite update with the new LC1 info please send me an e-mail asking for that, and include your customer ID #.

Also, please send me the PDF with that information as well if you have it.

    Re: LC-1 PID

Also, I would like to add.. When I inquired the manufacturer back in the day before the LC1 was released regarding the output spec, I was given a similar but different algo.

    Re: LC-1 PID

Am I to infer that the current 1.7 release has an error related to the LC-1 interface?

    Re: LC-1 PID

Mine worked just fine with the LC-1, but it was the latest seven wire LC-1. Not the six wire (that has the metallic wire).
