    '00 Corvette bogging

    Hey guys,

My dad's got a 2000 Corvette M6 w/ ~70,000 miles on it. Never had any problems, the car is bone stock. For the last 5,000 miles or so, it's been bogging badly, cutting out, nearly anytime you're trying to accelerate from 2,000 RPM's to redline(if you tried to take it to redline, hard to do). It DEFINELTY does it under WOT, and it's still cutting out at, say, 30% throttle.

I replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, and FPR/fuel filter. Dad also dumped a can of Redline fuel injector cleaner in the tank today, it didn't help. The car is not throwing a CEL at all, but using the VCM Scanner it pops up ~10 B and U codes, no P codes. I've attached a data log and the DTC's it's currently throwing. He did mention today that the car was running hot on his way home, oil temps got up to ~240 F, water to ~225 F.

We both have a tough time diagnosing cars when it's not throwing a P code at all...

Any ideas before we try to take it to a shop?

    Thanks,
    -Adam

When you start to demand fuel, your fuel trims go full tilt. This means your fuel supply is compromised. Bad fuel pump or resistive connection somewhere in the wiring or relay or anything that would cause the voltage to the pump to be weak.

Agree, likely plugged fuel filter. There is a tsb on the u codes being together like that, says it is normal. As for the rest, very random. Door module, mirror, daytime running lights......

I have replaced the fuel filter/FPR assembly that's bolted onto the trans tunnel frame rails...is there an additional fuel filter in the tank?

We both figured it had to be fuel related, do those fuel trims show the car running lean under throttle? Ugh, pulling those fuel tanks/pumps does NOT seem like a fun task.

Visually inspect the fuel lines, check your fuel pressure. Chances are your dropping the tank.

Even at part throttle, you have the PCM trying to add 25%+ your STFT values. Before you pull the pump, watch the voltage AT THE PUMP!! If the voltage is low, address the problem or bypass it using a relay and a fused 10ga wire off the back of the alternator run through your rocker panel. It's easy. If the voltage at the pump is reasonable, then consider yourself very lucky to not have an 03 or newer fuel system. Your pump is very easy to remove my friend. Remove your wheel, 3-13mm and 1-10mm and then unclip your plug and lines and remove the 7 or so 7mm bolts and catch the fuel in something. As you're sliding the pump out, unclip the float line and leave it in the tank. Pull the tygon line out and slide the pump out. No biggie. Get the new one from Lingenfelter.

Not saying this is the issue necesarily but in general EFI pumps tend to screw up till they end up quitting sporadically from the fuel level being low. Electric fuel pumps need fuel to keep them cool and lubricated, if run low enough and they aspirate air thats where the begins!
Of course a lot of people think they are saving $$$ by not filling up as often then when they find out what the real price of getting low in fuel is ..............
