Guys can I use the Cigarette Accessories while scanning? Because I need power for my labTop. Would be there any problem?

So you dont have the same problems that thay have with ls1 edtit ?
i read the following on their site.
WARNINGS
We have found at least one aftermarket laptop automobile DC power supply that could destroy any cabling between the laptop and the vehicle. This power supply connects the laptop ground to the vehicle's battery +12. Any cable connected from this laptop to the under-dash connector could have +12 volts put across its ground connectors. There are two conditions you must be cautious about. 1) If you are powering the laptop from a DC power supply plugged into the vehicle, then the laptop ground could be held at a voltage above or below vehicle ground. 2) If you are powering the laptop from a wall outlet and also have the vehicle on a battery charger, then the laptop ground could be held at a voltage above or below vehicle ground. If you are unsure about your laptop power supply, you MUST measure whether there is any voltage on the laptop ground measured against the vehicle ground.
Ken posted something about that a long while ago, not sure where. Ken?
Sounds like good advice to me. Last thing you want is the cable or worse your laptop to become an accidental fusible link
I use a normal 12V pack you use on an airplane etc. (as do most folks).

I use a little 70W inverter that fits into the cig plug
and plug the laptop into that. However I have used
a Toshiba (15V charger voltage) direct-plugged to the
lighter and I selected my IBM partially because it also
would run from 12V directly (though since the little
inverter works well, I haven't).
I got the little inverter plug at AutoZone.
I'm not sure I understand all of this but anyway. My car adapter says on it
DC Input 11-15 volts
DC Output 15-24 volts
I haven't had any problems thus far, and have uploaded tunes many many times. Do I run any risks with this?
2000TransAm24 would say that if you have had no problem with you're 12v car adaptor for your laptop while using HPT then it wont be a problem (though i am no expert i am a sheet metal worker not an electrician) .You would have had a problem the first time you hooked it up if it was going to be a problem if it was going to be a problem.
