    Shift Rpm

How do you get the vehicle to shift at the rpm you want it too. I have my shift point set at 6700 rpm in 1st and it shifts at 6180. I've tried raising the mph in 1st also and it made no change. 2nd shifts where I have it set at, just not 1st. Any idea?

I think the car won't shift until you've reached both MPH and RPM you command it to shift at.

Which table did you make the RPM/MPH changes to?
They all cover different modes. Normal mode is the
one to work with, Hot is for trans overtemp conditions,
Cruise is when in cruise control, Performance is
"fuggedaboudit", no "sport mode" switch on F-bodies,
this would be the Tow/Haul mode on trucks.

do you have to change both the wot setting as well as the other table to the same mph shift points? thats why i did seeing they were the same in the stock table figured id adj. both so as to not confuse the computer. Also why so high on the v6? where do you make peak at?

also i hear not to set the 1-2 using rpm...use mph as its point of reference.

I just push my clutch in and move that little lever between the seats. Seems to shift exactly when I want. ???

its a trial & error thing for most cars, you need to take into account the gearing and tranny slippage. Its even hard for tuners that do this for a living to get it right especially if they only dyno tune, most of the time you'll have to bring it back after you hit the track at least once with some scanning software. I usually just go by 1 or 2 mph and move it up till its in the range i want consistantly...also keep in mind the hotter the tranny gets the more slippage you get so at the beginning of the night you might not hit the rev limiter & at the end you might so keep these things in mind.

    Re: Shift Rpm

I switched only shfit rpm, and it shifts were i want it to everytime. However i was only shifting between 6-6200 rpm's. Make sure your rev limiters and spark cutout are raised too. I've also heard about doing via mph, its kinda a pain in the ass and rpm seems to work just fine too. So chalk it up to whatever you want to do.
