    Cannot verify cable ID error

Went to install a new tune yesterday and got a "Cannot verify cable ID" error. It is connecting for a brief moment then errors out. It even scans thru the different COM ports and finally dis-connects.
Could not find this in the FAQ or search, anyone had this happen?

Re: Cannot verify cable ID error

Thanks, I'll check the cable tonite after work. BTW I am using the serial connection, no USB.
S2002S, I am in ABQ as well. Saw your 5000+ signature note and looked it up. I would like to meet up sometime and discuss the software if you are Ok with that.

Sure! I'll share what meager knowledge I have. I consider myself a novice.

Re: Cannot verify cable ID error

Still no luck on the cable issue. S2002S, sent you a PM, would like to "borrow" your cables to eliminate them. I will also try the connection troubleshooter and log a file as per the instructions in another post.

Re: Cannot verify cable ID error

Tried all the troubleshooting suggestions with no help. Did a pin out check on the serial cable, all looks good.
Just sent the LOG file with error condition to [email protected] and hope they can help me out.
BTW, it now always generates the "Cable not Found" error.

Re: Cannot verify cable ID error

COM1 port died. Did ping test and it failed. Could not figure the port issue out, all internal diagnostics said there was no problem.
Finally bought a USB to Serial adaptor, back on line again! Thx Kevin, S2002S for the help.

Good news! Is the USB interface any faster?

Re: Cannot verify cable ID error

Seems to be, but I was using my wifes Trailblazer to check so no downloads.
I tell you what tho, compared to the programmers I have for the Dodge it is like lightning with the HPT! Downloads are soooo much faster.
