I favor the LM-1 for its form factor and it seems
to work well. I got it from Turbometrics.com for
$314 (base; added on some other stuff). The
intended use as you see it (in-car? multiple cars?
Gauges or just logging?) is the big differentiator.
    The Dynojet is more suited to single-car, in-car;
I wanted a "toolbox meter" style, myself. I have
a tuning kit in two laptop bags.

The LM-1 basic kit. Does it come with everything to connect it to the new enhanced interface?

I believe the only extra you need to buy, is the "analog
output cable". They want 8 bucks for it. You could perhaps
do slightly better at RadioShack, or just cut the cord off
a pair of worn-out stereo headphones for free.

If you don't want do drill & weld the bung that comes
with the kit you may also want the exhaust mount clamp.
I cobbled my own out of coat-hanger but that's a bit
    shade-tree; I do have a purpose-welded bung in the
I-pipe facing the passenger's door on my own car.

    I picked up a PLX-M300 for $314 from http://www.streetrays.com/catalog/in...78d06fbb0be0d7

I went with this one because of the size, easy to read lcd, and plus i plan on having it mounted permanent.

Once it is all wired in, looks similar to a radar detector sitting on the dash.
