    2013 Calibrated Success Live Classes

Gentlemen, I hope everyone had a great 2012 as we look forward to 2013. I have already set a handful of live class dates for the coming year and they are posted on the front page of my website too. As usual, I have both "Secrets of EFI Calibration" and "Advanced GM Workshop" sessions planned.

Keep in mind that the format for the Advanced GM class has changed as of last year. It is now a one-day workshop, based largely on student Q&A. The prerequisite for the class is viewing both Calibrated Success GM Tuning DVDs (hopefully followed by some practice!) before coming to the class. The class will start with some review of the DVD material and then move on to more involved topics, largely driven by what YOU want to learn that day. Since it's now only a one-day workshop and you must have both DVDs prior to attending, I have elected to drop the price to reflect this. This means that I no longer require you to send me a copy of your DVD receipt, but we will be counting on you to already be familiar with the material when you show up. If you show up and fake it, but take time away from everyone else who did their homework, I will let them beat you with socks filled with pennies.

New for 2013 will be a dedicated Standalone ECU class. I know it may seem out of place here, but trust me when I say that a LOT of the material can be translated either way between OEM and standalone controllers. I plan to have an engine-swapped demo vehicle with a modern standalone handy so we can look at both getting over the "how do I get this thing running?" and the "let's take a look at some of the really cool stuff this does that we can't do with an OEM controller."

Here's the initial schedule. Feel free to email me directly with questions or for registration. Thanks!

I know it looks like I'm some crazy nutcase here who like talking to myself, but I just wanted to clear up a few of my common questions about the "Secrets of EFI Calibration" course.

First, "Is this the beginner course?" and "Why should I take this if I have a bunch of experience?" I tackle these together by saying that there's something in this course for everyone from the first timer to the experienced shop owner. You will all learn something, often from each others' questions. If you passed high school math, you will learn in this class even if you've been "tuning" for 20 years.

Second, "Secrets? What Secrets?" Well, I previously had these little gems hidden within the content for you to encounter along the way. I just reorganized the class and now each one of them leads to its own detailed discussion... all 20 of them. They're honestly more "realizations" or "Ah-Ha! moments" where the light bulb comes on over your head as you figure out why some things work the way they do. Many of these will permanently change your tuning approach in the future. Sorry, no secret ninja moves from the government...

More questions? Feel free to post here or email like usual.
