What controller? We currently offer tuning solutions for about 40, each of which use different strategies, with gm 3 no error reported means it won't report the error, no mil means it won't throw a light but it'll report the error, mil on 1st will throw a light on the first error, mil on 2nd will throw a light on the second error.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with that pcm's strategy.
There's not that many combinations. An easy way to find out is just try it and observe the results.
