    vin registration car/truck

    Can you please give me a crash course on a few questions 1. Vin# registration credits what vin do I use when building a stand alone harness? Do I pull the vin out of the pcm and register it?2.how do I know which credits to buy truck or car ? The swaps I'm building are Frankenstein's to say it best some of this little of that all gen 3 .Please please please answer greatly appreciated

    If its a gm pcm you need gm credits
    If its a ford pcm you need ford credits
    If its a dodge pcm you need ford credits

    The software determines how it needs to license the pcm, you don't need to do any other than read the pcm.
    It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

    Bill thank you for answering, I apologize should have been more clear I was referring to gm gen 3 I wouldn't assume ford credits would work on gm.My concern was if I buy unlimited gen 3 car license, if I use a pcm out of a truck will I need to have truck credits?

    If the pcm has a truck vin in it and you do not have the license, yes.
    It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
