currently working on a 2013 lml found you couldnt read the stock file with either editor so i pulled a stock tune from the repository when to make chages load it on and then when i when to write had to licences so i did and now its saying that the vehicle is not liscenced i liscenced it and the confirmed it was so and it wont let me write the new file on to the ecu

You can 'read' the stock file. It will read your truck and present you with a canned stock file for your truck. Its write only ECM. Not sure what you mean by 'either editor'? Sounds like a connection thing. If you took a stock file from the repository with another vin, itll make you license the file AND the truck. So if the truck wasn't licensed...it wont let you write even if you licensed the file. This is how i remember it anyway.

Very new to tuning, have been a diesel tech for 13 years. My tuner moved across the country. Is anyone will to give a in-depth crash course on tuning a LML. I have a sled pulling truck. I understand these ecms are read only, so I?m afraid if I do anything on hptuners the correct file in the truck will be gone

Tuning an LML is just like any modern VGT common rail diesel. What questions do you have?

They can be read but not with HPT

Can you at least get an unlocked file from your tuner for the 'as is' to start with? I assume he's already done mods to your setup

I need help building an off road race tune for my truck its a lml with stage one alternat firing cam 45% over injectors 67 mill turbo from wehrli custom mishimoto intercooler and wehrli custom y bridge and high flow intake bundle right now its running with my h&s mini maxx tuner but not very good. every time I try doing off road tune and upload it the truck runs like crap and I still get a message about reduce speed in 65 miles so there are some DTC codes I must not be seeing to disable. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

Tips and tricks? You're kidding right? That isn't a canned tune capable DMax. You need a professional tuner using something other than HP Tuners.
