    Roadhawk Data Delay

When importing the video/data from a Roadhawk HD camera the data file is not synchronized with the video. It seems that if the device powers on and takes a few seconds to receive a GPS signal the software starts the data at the point where the video starts. In the Roadhawk video player the data and video work properly. Currently I have to trim the beginning of the video to match the time length of the data.

Is there a solution to this issue or is the trimming of the video file the only work around?

This sometimes happens with GPS-enabled cameras, because they can usually start video recording faster than they can acquire a GPS signal, when starting from a powered-off state. Sometimes you can have them powered up and acquire a GPS signal before they actually start recording, so that both recording files will start at the same time (and therefore be in sync), although the details and success rate will vary depending on the camera model.

Ultimately, the solution when a mismatch occurs is to use either one of the Synchronization Tools, which can effectively trim the start of the video footage, but in a more intuitive way for fine-tuning data/video sync than using the Trim Tool. For most users, this is just the normal procedure, being that their separate video cameras and data systems tend to need a greater amount of sync adjustment. GPS-enabled cameras should tend to be a bit closer in start time, so it may not need as much adjustment.
