    VCM / OS compatibility question

I have a 2003 4.3 Silverado with the stock P59 VCM, service number 12576106, HDW NO. 12570558. The OS is 12579405.

Ive swapped in an LS1 from a 2000 Camaro with the P01 & OS 9381344.

Can i take the Camaro file and do a write entire to the '03 VCM, or is it not compatible? I'm assuming that it is not, and i need to do a lot of copy/paste stuff, but i wanted to ask first to be sure.

    Thanks.

Blue/red connector files are not compatible with blue/green connector pcms and vice versa. Compare the file sizes of the two.

Truck wouldn't crank hardly at all, acted like a bad battery. Spark plugs were soaked and only 1 looked like it had fired.....tried a lot of unsuccessful remedies and diagnostics. Finally got it to work when I took a 2003 V8 truck file and did a write entire. Apparently taking the V6 file and setting it up for 8-cylinder operation doesn't work. Anybody have any reason why? I wondered how the ignition would work going from a single coil & distributor to 8 coils
