    Re-licensing a vehicle

After many years I lost my interface and was told I lost the licenses along with it. I purchased a new interface and credits to re-license vehicles that were already licensed to my old interface.

When I go to write the calibration on a vehicle already licensed to my old interface it says "vehicle not licensed" and I cannot find where to license it to the new interface?

    What am I missing?

    Thanks

Close the file, then reopen it. It will ask you for licensing options when you first open the file

Thanks for the reply. It doesn't offer the licensing options if I reopen or download/open the file. When I open the tune the red load cal icon is highlighted like it is licensed but when I go to write it says unlicensed vehicle.

If I look under license information both interface serial #'s are showing, I'm thinking I may have to delete the old interface so it doesn't think the tune is already licensed?

yes, that could very well be the issue, it is looking for the interface in which the file is licensed to, then boots you out. It doesn't ask for a license because it knows you have one, just on a different interface

I cannot find a way to remove the first interface from VCM Editor. Only one serial # is showing up under my online profile so I uninstalled VCM and reinstalled it and both interfaces are showing up again. I'm starting to think HPT needs to remove the first interface from my profile so it doesn't download. I have a request into support.

Update your application key in the Editor and Scanner as this is tied to your interface. Then with interface connected go to Licence Info and 'Get VCM/Licence Info'. This should display your interface number, licence slots, licences used, credits available etc. It should also update your licence file and therefore prompt you to licence options when you open an unlicensed file.

Thanks for the reply. Support had me go to My Documents/HPTuners/settings and delete the license.dat file.

Then I went to application keys and deleted the old interface key.

Opened 3.0 and now I am able to license the tune, thanks again.
