    Keyboard Input of Start-Finish Coordinates

What is the correct format for typing the coordinates of the start/finish line?

TrackAddict uses decimal latitude and longitude degrees, with positive numbers for North latitudes or East longitudes, and negatives for South or West.

So, you'd typically see that represented as something like "40.0000, -105.1000", which works out to 40.0 North latitude, and 105.1 West longitude. TrackAddict has separate boxes for the latitude and longitude.

If you are being supplied with coordinates by someone else and they look like 40 00'00.0"N 105 06'00.0"W, then that's in degrees, minutes', seconds" (aka "DMS") and would need to be converted to decimal degrees. Divide the seconds by 60 and add the result to the minutes, then divide that result by 60 and add to the degrees, then finally throw a negative sign on the front if it's South or West. There's a conversion tool to/from that format here: https://www.fcc.gov/media/radio/dms-decimal

    Thanks Weston,

For rally, we get coordinates on DD, so it's no problem to convert. I just needed to know which format TA needed. Some mapping websites will give the coordinates in DD or DMS (Google and Bing maps give the former, IIRC.)

There is even an Android application for converting DD to and from DMS.

It would be nice to have an editable CSV file with the list of tracks so you can add to or edit the information.
