    MAF question

    When i unplugg my MAF to log, My tranny shifts very hard?

    The MAF is part of what sends the signal for the shift pressure, if I am not mistaken. Perhaps this means that the other parameters that are used when the maf signal is lost are off, causing the firm shifting since it can't adjust appropiately to the air coming in. Just a quess though.

    Trans line pressure is set by calculated load, load is
    airflow and RPM, with the MAF offline the airflow is
    suspect and a failsafe, max pressure is used. Some
    years / models will revert to use speed density load
    and not make it default to full pressure, some just
    go to "failsafe".
