I'm goiing to hook up a map sensor so I can log boost in HPT. My question is the regarding the power input of the map-does it have to be a 5 volt( such as the TPS connection) reference or any source of power feed from the system? Thanks!

The power supply for the MAP must be 5 volts for it to work. Technically you could use an adapter harness & pick up 5 volts from the factory MAP sensor.
Then again, if you have the 2 or 3 bar OS for your application you just need the 2 bar or 3 bar MAP sensor.
