    No serial connection on my LM-1

    I am tring to go in LM programer to calibrate my wide band. The LM-1 does not recognize that the serial cable is plugged in. Any ideas?

    I have the same problems until i used an old laptop with the serial connector.
    Still working on it.

    Now its working (flowcontrol was changed to Xon Xof)

    USB to Serial Test for LC1

    This is what i have tried with the LC1

    SET UP FOR COM PORT TO BE USED
    KeySpan need to be pluged in USB port (notice led
    blinks every sec)

    My computer view system info
    Hardware
    Device manager
    ports com
    keyspan USB serial port4 (port can be changed later)
    port setting
    start assist
    port mapping for selected adapter port (select com1)
    Do you want to continue (yes)
    Port mapping succeeded (ok)

    Start/All programs/Accessories/Communitations/Hyper
    Terminal
    Connection Description

    ok

    COM1 SETTINGS
    Bits per Second : 115200
    Data Bits : 8
    Parity : None

    Testing Keyspan adapter
    short pins 1,2 (notice led stays on)
    type ??????? (notice led responds to data typed????)
    Hyper Terminal should respond with ???????


    DB-9 connector Signal
    LC1 pins that are used
    2 Received Data
    3 Transmitted Data
    5 Signal Ground
    Pin 3 or 2 to gnd should have a -2.5v to -10v
    LC1 loop plug needs to be in the out side of the LC1 cable

    All other pins not used

    having the same f'in prob with my LC1...

    It's the only thing holding me back from using my wideband

    tried it with 2 laptops, same thing both times.....
    99 T/A. g5x4 cam. Now trying to figure out how to tune it...

    think I might know my prob.

    Didn't have the wireless plug in the other analog socket.....

    I hope that was my prob, we'll see tomorrow....

    I had to buy an adapter to make the LM1 cord fit my usb port. The company that makes the adapter has a web site with a free download that makes the laptop "look" at the usb port as if it were a serial port. But that is the key. Let me know if you need the website.
