x7f negative request code

Wrote a file to my 09 cts v a couple days ago just fine. Today I keep getting the x7f code when trying to read or write. From searching around I read could be the battery or a wiring/interference issue. I have since tried another battery, removed all the add on crap I have wired up and nothing has changed. I also rebooted my lap top and updated to the latest version of hpt. Any help is much appreciated.

im having the same issue my scanner still works so im not sure that it is an interface or wire issue
