    Help with emissions smoke test

    Hello,
I need some help getting my 2000 genIII LQ4 T56 to pass the smoke test. The problem I am having is the throttle is way to sensitive to hold the RPM at 2400 plus or minus 300. When i get to 2400 and stop the throttle, the rpm just keeps climbing on up to 3000. when i move the throttle at all down, the rpm will drop to around 2000. It just doesn't want to run at 2400 for me. We tried feeler gauges in the throttle body linkage and 1 10,000th of an inch will vary from 2200 to 3000. It seems like i am fighting some table in the tune. Any suggestions on where to start? I saw fuel cutoff and resume; maybe set that to 2400 for the test? I also saw a throttle follower section, maybe something in there? Im pretty lost... I did get the car to pass a couple months ago but it was very difficult and took 3 tries with a long flat-bladed screw driver on the throttle linkage by the minimum air adjustment screw. I was bouncing the RPM in the 300rpm window because it is near impossible to get 2400. This only happens when trying to run the rpm up in neutral, The throttle is perfect while driving.
    THanks in advance,

I have never seen a DBC throttle that sensitive. I know that doesn't answer your question but I would look for something else other than the tune.

That's odd. Datalog the IAC during this process and see if it's stable. You can even force it to a certain position with the scanner.
