Ranger sid209 module update to write?

    hi all,
i have a quick question in regards to tuning 2018 3.2 ford ranger.
i am a bit cautious after seeing "brickable" in the flash window, is this writing an entire file or just a section/patch to enable reading, modifying and writing?
has anyone had experience with these pcms?
is there anything i need to be aware of?

    thanks

    Yes.
My guess is you have a PX2 w/DPF with that EFK file?.

That file you've shared is used to unlock the PCM so you can read it, it's not a PCM read.
Writes are always doable, but a Read is not doable without flipping some bits first.

    Bump , Help please

Sorry to drag up an old thread,

But, i have recently upgraded interface to the mpv3, ive also changed the company i work for and now going at it alone, so i started afresh with a new account.

The work i do Only caters to the Ford Ranger, Based in the UK so they are all EURO5+

Ive tried to read what as far as i know is a Stock 2017 Wildtrack 3.2 Auto.
It has DPF and DCU (adblue)

when ive plugged it in, after abit of faff getting it to connect properly as at first it wasnt displaying the ECM only the TCM, and then it was without a VIN etc etc, After gettin to something that makes sense ( please find attatched)
    nevermind it wont upload.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/16x0...usp=share_link

It came up with a prompt saying that it 'needs an update to be read and its non volitile untill writing back to pcm.'

im just wondering as to why it says its 2011, when the vehicle is 2017, and as far as i or the owner is aware its not had the ecm changed in the past.
and also if anyone could help as to why it has failed to read a few times now, thought id best get more help before repeatedly trying.

its seems this ECM might be a tricky one to get full access into im slowly discovering haha.

any help is much appreciated !
