Review log request: Erratic timing at idle and cruising.

Is it typical for torque management advance to intervene at idle?

Also, why does it start retarding timing while cruising down the highway?

Not sure if I logged enough data for y'all to draw a conclusion. Still new to tuning/logging so if you need more data, let me know.

Also, it's a basically bone stock 2016 Silverado 1500 L86/8L90. I converted to E85 and opened up the stock airbox to match the opening in the fender. Still have the paper filter though. Exhaust flapper is wire opened too.

I attached my most recent calibration as well. On the engine side I've really only tweaked the VVT and it's corresponding spark adder and fine tuned Driver Demand for better highway cruising. The rest is trans stuff.

    Bueller? Fry?

Seriously though, any help is appreciated. I've updated my PIDs and will get another log and post it. Seems like this is a hit or miss issue though.

Torque management advance at idle. Anyone else encounter this? This is on E75 ethanol. Not sure if it does it on E10 93 octane.

Torque Management Advance is one of the ways the ECU uses timing to control torque. This is normal in a Torque based system.

Got it - same for the saw tooth looking timing curve on this highway? SOP?

I'll admit the saw tooth thing on the highway doesn't look normal. But Torque Management Advance isn't the cause, its rather the effect of something asking for less or more torque so rapidly. You are not datalogging nearly enough parameters, specifically torque based, to see what the ECU sees being requested from the driver vs what it is giving to the drivetrain.
