The new HP Tuners MPVI2+ contains an upgraded Bluetooth 5 chip that supports both Android and iOS, whereas the older MPVI2 had supported Android but not iOS due to Apple's restrictions upon classic Bluetooth devices.

You will need TrackAddict v4.7.1 or higher in order to use the MPVI2+

Android

On the Setup Options screen, under the OBD section, use the "Setup HP Tuners MPVI2" button to access the setup wizard. This works for both the MPVI2 and the MPVI2+, as well as RTD and RTD+ devices.

You also have the option to manually pair the device using your phone's Settings app... Hold down the BT button until the BT light starts flashing, and then it should be discoverable via Bluetooth on your phone.

The OBD option will need to be set to "Bluetooth" and then the "OBD Device" selection will need to be set to your MPVI2+. The guided setup wizard will do this for you. After pairing, unplug the MPVI2+ and then plug it back in, to ensure that it gets reset before using it to communicate with your vehicle.

iOS

(enhanced DTCs and enhanced Pro Feature Set data parameters are available on iOS as of the v4.7.2 update)

On the Setup Options screen, under the OBD section, use the "Setup HP Tuners MPVI2+" button to access the setup wizard. This only works for the MPVI2+ and RTD+, as the original MPVI2 and RTD were not supported by iOS.

The guided setup wizard must be used to properly pair the device. The OBD option will need to be set to "MPVI", which the setup process will do for you.

Please note that if you get the iOS pairing prompt before you started the BT light flashing, it may not pair properly and may need a complete reset (see instructions further below). This is an oddity with pairing on iOS and may be improved in the future.

Troubleshooting Tips

1) You can use VCM Editor or VCM Scanner on your Windows computer to get the latest firmware, which may include bug fixes and usability improvements. Connect the device to your computer with a USB cable, then go to Help -> Resync Interface.

2) Ensure that your phone's Bluetooth is turned on

3) If you had previously paired the MPVI2+ to your phone, and then that pairing got removed or "forgot" from the phone, then you may need to first reset the MPVI2+'s Bluetooth parings by holding down the BT button for 10+ seconds until you see the BT light change from a slow flash to a fast flash.

4) If all else fails, do a complete bluetooth reset (see below) and try again

Complete Bluetooth Reset: How-To

1) Set TrackAddict's OBD mode to "OFF"

2) Open your phone's Settings app, go to Bluetooth, and if your MPVI2+ is listed there, click on it (on iOS, click the 'i' icon) and then select the "Forget This Device" or similarly named option

3) Turn your phone all the way off and then back on.

4) With your MPVI2+ plugged in (green light on), reset its Bluetooth parings by holding down the BT button for 10+ seconds until you see the BT light change from a slow flash to a fast flash

5) Unplug your MPVI2+ to ensure that it gets reset before attempting to pair it to your phone again
