Hey guys, just looking at the torque management screen here and was wondering about the Traction Control System. TCS Method/Wheel Hop Control settings. Is this just for when the traction control is on or does this control more like helping launch.

TCS Max torque in my experience affects how invasive traction control is. If you jack up the airflow model where the reported torque is really high, this could need raising so that traction control isn't too sensitive. I will say that it seems to have an affect on Auto cars, but I haven't really found it affect Manuals much. I usually only touch this is for whatever reason the airmass causes a higher than OEM torque output. Then I raise it to be inline. This is also my own experience so I can't say for sure I am correct.
Wheel hop, pretty sure that is exactly what it says. If the car start wheel hopping it will pull back the delivered torque to get it to stop. I've NEVER changed this value in a tune however, so this is an assumption.
If anyone has any other experiences than mine, I'm certainly open to them. I could be totally wrong and not even know it.
I have a customer complaining that the car bogs off the line when he's launching it at the track. He's been researching it and someone one the Camaro forums told him it would help if these fields were pushed back. I thought it was for traction control too but I told him we'd give it a shot though.
