Thread: Start up fuel issue

    Start up A/F issue

Got an 01 LS1 Camaro, usual heads/cam type car, with stock MAF and 30lb Ford injectors (so "34" lb rating on the GM).

The car is tuned and everything is nice, except for one issue. On startup, the car will go into CL quickly and then shoot up to 18:1 a/f for a minute or two, and afterwards it will drop back down to stoich as it should be and run normal. I tried playing with a few startup fuel parameters, but they didn't seem to make a difference.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Pretty much zeroed out. I tweaked the MAF x-fer at operating temp to set the trims.

Doing a search, I found some info about startup idle air adders. I am just not familiar with the labeling of the parameters in the HP stuff (I'm primarily a Ford tuner), so I'm not sure what I need to adjust.

AIR system runs for a bit at startup and will fool narrowband and
wideband sensors. Turn it off and you should see pig-rich instead.
