    Need some opinions....

I bought one of those E-mail tunes where you send logs back and forth and the guy tweaks the tune "until it is perfect"

I sent my list of mods (TR 224,LS6 intake,Dart 205's,Dynatech L.T's,ASP 25% U.D),and my stock file and was sent back a modified file.

I used this file to make these logs and sent them back.
Tuner says I am good to go.
    Tell me what you think.

Well, just looking at WOT3, you were in closed loop until 3500 RPM because of the way you worked the throttle. From 3500-6000 you have a fairly flat AFR in the upper 12's. You have no KR so thats good, 24 degrees timing up top is pretty good. Maybe it could stand a few more degrees but not much will be gained by doing that. Your fuel trims could use some work but most of them are negative which won't affect WOT.

All and all not a bad mail order tune IMO.

    Thanks for looking.....

The car runs good but I think I expected alittle more fine tuning.
It is "not perfect" as advertised... but it is close

I tuned my car myself (VE and Maf in SD) and had great results.
I wanted to see what a Pro would do.

The tuner took a different approach
The Maf wasn't touched and the injectors were scaled to control the fueling while the VE just had some whole #'s added.
The spark tables look good, but as stated I think a little more could be added.

This is a scan from my tune.I would appreciate any comments/suggestions
I am using the spark tables from the E-mail tune

I didn't see much if any WOT in that last log. IMO tuning via IFR and PE is not a good practice but you can achieve results with it. Since you know a lot about tuning I'm not surprised you're less than impressed with his tuning. I too have wanted to take my car somewhere to see what a 'pro' could do to it but I'm not paying the ~$500 they usually charge just to satisfy my curiosity.

That log was just cruising....but my AFR seemed to be a little more stable/closer.

My Maf % error is pretty much 1's across the board (except @ idle)

I will try some WOT runs today

    Thanks again for looking

    Here is log from yesterday.....

I am still tweaking the MAF curve @ the higher frequencies.

Fuel trims look good but around frame 600 my comm. AFR is 12.19 for some reason.

Is this due to COT?? It is during decell (coasting)

Also around frame 6000 my comm. AFR goes from 12.9 (good) to 12.68??

I have checked my EQ table and it's not richer than PE so I don't think thats the culprit.

RE: Frame ~600: I'm not sure what is causing the commanded to go that low. Could be COT.

RE: Frame ~6000: It's just PE. Your commanded PE AFR is 12.66 starting at 4000 RPMs so from 3600 - 4000 it's interpolating between 12.96 and 12.66. Doing exactly what you're telling it to do.
