    stand alone logging?

When I follow the instructions on how to use the stand alone feature it does not work, when I push record the red light comes on that says err and there is nothing being recorded. What is happening, I have watched the help video 10 times.

Not sure what you mean, I wrote in a config. using the chart and inserting everything I wanted to log. Is there something else I have to do, I followed the help demo exactly the way it shows and I get nothing.

plug in your unit and run the scanner. at the top you click on scan and then the MVPI at the bottom of the drop down. in the top section of the dialog box it has "write scan" and a warning that it will erase any saved stand alone logs. click on that. that writes the calibration that you use with your computer to the module. you should be able to stand alone log after that

That's exactly what I did and when I plug back into the computer and open to read log there is nothing there.

Please list a step by step of what YOUR doing please as if your telling someone on the phone how to do it as theres no reason it shouldn't work flawlessly if you follow that guide.

O.K. Bill I got it to work, I added a bunch of pid's, how do I access those. I have only found the charts with the standard readings, I am trying to find a transmission shifting problem, is this the correct way to do it?

Your scanner is completely customizable, as long as you are logging them in your table display you can view the PID's in the other displays by customizing them.

Why not post your scanner log so we can further determine WHAT exactly you were logging & what you can/can't access.

K, what parameter are you trying to view & where? ie shift time error for latest shift in the gauge view.

How do you see the shift time error and is there info on how to read things like this?

You might consider starting here with our help file http://www.hptuners.com/help/vcm_scanner_displays.htm or maybe the quick start guides http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5691 as viewing things in your table display are the building blocks of other functions.
