    Dyno Results: F13 "cam only"

So I had a chance to dyno my SS after I added the F13 cam to it, I also added the PRC Duals spring kit (w/Ti retainers), Comp Cams 7.40" Pushrods, and SVO 30#. My previous dyno results can be see on this link:

Here are my results from the dyno session this evening. The car was dyno'ed back to back, with the ECT settling at 192 degrees for consistency. It drives so nicely that my wife enjoys driving it to work everyday, not bad for a "400rwhp" A4 car.

    Pre-Cam
    Locked: 362 rwhp @ 5100 rpms | 393 rwtq @ 4100 rpms
    Unlocked: 342 rwhp @ 4900 rpms | 398 rwtq @ 3700 rpms

    After Cam
    Locked: 406 rwhp @ 5900 rpms | 417 rwtq @ 4700 rpms
    Unlocked: 390 rwhp @ 5800 rpms | 419 rwtq @ 4300 rpms

    Gains
    Locked: 44 rwhp | 24 rwtq
    Unlocked: 48 rwhp | 21 rwtq

    Hey George!
Nice gains. Pretty darn good for a cam only! Now you can use the RPM band more thoroughly.

One thing I have noticed on every FAST equipped car and it's showing up on yours too: Torque goes "flat" & gains, "flat" & gains up to peak and then drops (as it should at higher RPMs). You can really see it on the locked converter run.

"Flats" are at 3400-3600 with a "flatter" spot from 4200-4400 RPM. It's more pronounced on big cubed motors though. I think it must have some kind of harmonic in the intake. I've never been able to "prove" my theory because I lack equipment to check it but it's always there on a FAST installation. Just saw the exact same thing occur on an 03 Z06 Vette with heads & cam and now a Fast. I'll get the dyno graph of that one up for yoou to compare with.

Hmm, very interesting find Doug. I always thought it was the cam, but looking over some dyno graphs it tends to happen at that rpm. That would rule out the cam. We should compare dyno graphs to see if there is more proof to this theory of your's.

Just had a CTS-V with a 427 on the dyno and it's most pronounced at 4200 RPM.

Yeah, there is a pattern. We had a 2005 Z51 with a 403 and a FAST 90/90 ... it dips at 4200 rpms as well. You are on to something!
