First Tune, need a little guidence to get started

I have a 2004 GMC sierra 4.3 auto. All i have done to the tune so far is raise the part throttle shift points to keep the truck from lugging in to high a gear at low speeds. Before i went any farther with my tuning i did a log and found some KR, up to 6* at wot and close to 3* at part throttle and cruising.

I don't see anything obvious causing it. From reading some other threads i think i need to 'desensitize' the knock sensors like Russ Kemp describes in this thread http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...ock+tune+knock

I just need to know if i'm heading in the right direction.

    Thanks
    Stuart

The screen pic shows how to set up the knock sensors. Also the PE is not working, make the changes as shown. Use my config file for scanning, just insert your brand of wideband in the table display.

Thanks, i changed the PE and knock, i'll try it as soon as the roads get better. Also whats different in your config file apart from the obvious warning zones removed.
I don't have a wide band yet, thats some where in the future. I was hoping i would be able to get myself better throttle response and some better mileage before i need to invest in some more gear. I figured i could start fixing the big dips in the timing by removing some TQ and removing some of the negative timing in my timing tables

    Edit
Never mind about the config question, i found it. Not sure how I missed it, had a hard time trying to get it to down then open for some reason, must of missed it in my confusion.
