Can We At Least Get Scanning For 94/95/96/97 LT1 ???

So it seems that HP tuners will probably never offer support for the LT1 . Ok, but how about offering a decent scanning solution for these vehicles? The HP scan suite is just fantastic when tuning, I imagine I could use the histograms with other tuning software if needed. The other logging options out there just don't seem to hold a candle to the HP stuff. Please think about it

94-95 is obd1 so thats definitely out.

96-97 I've been able to scan generic parameters without issue for a long time.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Bill, when you say generic parameters, are we talking about the low speed generic OBD2 or is this something specific to GM ?

generic gm parameters, no enhanced gm parameters so you can scan things like
    rpm
    mph
    spark timing
    map
    etc.

    But not things like
    Knock retard
    etc.

The next time you get your hands on a 96-97 LT1 try it out for yourself.

Yup, as Bill stated I have been able to log basic parameters of LT1 vehicles when tuning.

I don't know when it happened, but recently I noticed that there are now a few non-generic parameters you can log on a 96-97 LT1. I image its the result of the 350 vortec trucks. Reguardless of why, Thanks!

    I have scanned my Dad's 64 Impala with a 96 LT1/A4. Worked fine.

What I didn't try to do was download the program. Can HPT do that?

He's getting ready to do another LT1 conversion. 97 LT1/A4 into a 85 Monte Carlo SS.

doubt it, we've had a few customers try to scan 96-97 but they cannot even communicate as they use a different pcm than the 98+ vortec's.

I was able to get it to work on my 97 GMC Jimmy. I had to manually input the VIN and it only had SAE PID's, but it did work.
