    How much timing?

looked over a few different files and got some conflicting #'s all over the board and just want to know what you guys think...i looked at my Z's timing which is pretty much 20+ in every cell...whereas my gtp is in the single digits and teens in alot of sections...i havent had the chance to look at a modified gtp tune but i would think you'd at least be able to add a decent amount to the lower end of the rpm band...also whats a safe rev limiter for the stock internals/springs?

    Thanks

If you get a handle on the timing of the V6 code you will be many steps ahead.

You need to make some scans and try to understand the method of the timing control.

The V6 code is not like the V8 code, and I suspect its not much like anything else.

The timing is very stable until you roll on the throttle. The timing can be at 17 and all the sudden with light TPS increase its down to 0.

You can be criusing along and just lift your foot of the throttle and all the sudden be at 0.

I have changed torque management, and all other items relating to timing and still cannot get it to remain stable when TPS is used. Some have said it is is a Knock sensor calibration. Some have said its a TPS tippin setting. Neither of these are in the V6 parameters to be changed at this time.

Theres stock bottom end engines out there turning 6500RPM. I set most of mine to 6200 with 5900 shifts.

thanks loyde...i set the limiter for 6100 & 5800 1-2 shift right now with its 2nd tune...theres a little more tweaking to be done like the 2-3 shift but I'll wait for the track to get that done since it occurs around 80mph lol. I got most of my KR to go away by pulling a tad of timing at the top end and added some down low and just smoothed it together a bit so I'll do a little more work on that tomorrow and see if i can get 0's across the board...hopefully i can get a little cash to buy my wideband soon so i can actually start TUNING this thing lol. Do you have any modified GTP files you would let me view? Horist's site only has a bunch of stockers which other then the 04 model all are pretty much identical to my stocker obviously so i dont have much to go on as far as what everyone is running.

    thanks

    Re: How much timing?

also whats a good a/f ratio to shoot for via a wideband? I hear conflicting #'s being thrown around...on the street i would assume around 12.0:1 or 11.5:1 on the dyno with 10'psi would be fine.
