    CASE Relearn

    I have a 96 Firebird w/ 97 PCM and a HPTuners modified program.

I replaced the harmonic balancer and now have a P0300 code. I assume that a CASE relearn must be done.

I tried the "driving" method but it didn't take.

Since the programming was done for me and I don't have HPT myself, can the HPT software do this? I.E., go back to the guy that programmed it? Or, can a dealer do this without "screwing" up the HPT program?

I don't know anyone who the driving method works for.....

If the tuner did it in person, ask him if he can do CASE learn.

Problem is he's 100 miles away. So, could my local dealer also do it without messing up the HPT program?

    Will that require a VIN?

I have a 97 PCM in a 96. Need to know what to tell the dealer. I have the VIN for the 97 PCM.

know anybody local to you with Hp tuners ?

it literally takes about 3 minutes including plugging in the cable etc.. to do a case learn

I would do it for anyone near me as a courtesy, heck go to a street night at your local track find someone with hpt and ask
    PB's 1/4 mi 12.21 117.75 trap ,1/8 mi. 7.779 93.99trap , 1.949 short time (FWD W body)

The guy w/ HPT that originally tuned it is 100 miles away.

Friday afternoon I took the car to the local Chevy dealer and they did it in the driveway for NOTHING! The tech just wanted the year, so I told him 97. No more codes.

BTW, the local Pontiac dealer said they couldn't do it - they only flash and didn't have the scan tool? Losers, or BS. I've been going to the Chevy dealer more and more.
