    P0101 code

Got a pop at end ot 2nd gear wot run with HHR SS and Westers hot tune.
Ran ok to get home but limp mode and no boost.

Got home, checked hoses and all ok. Read code and p0101 is MAF not
agreeing with MAP etc. Car restarted and idled ok till I cleared the code
and confirmed check engine light was out.
Now car is hard to start and won't idle. No noises and sounded fine before
I cleared the code. Gonna check the MAF for ref volt, ign and ground in AM.

Suspect by clearing the code, I got rid of the backup mode it was in and now
I may have a bad MAF that for some reason is not resetting a code.

    Ideas??

Not sure who you are yet, but you should be asking us directly for help.

#1. When did you get the tune ?

#2. I have a limited list of HHR SS clients...so it should be pretty easy to find you fast. We'll need your VIN, and/or the tune sheet you sent us.

    Thanks !

No problem with tune at all. Turns out the IC hose to throttle body had
slipped off and was hard to see. P101 code defines a difference between
MAF reading and a calc value from MAP etc. Reseated and clamped hose
    and all is well.

    Ok...glad you found it.

I've found once you've gotten the hose to blow off once, it'll more than likely keep happening.

Here's a good fix. Find O2 sensor safe RTV Black silicone, and smear a 1/32"-1/16" bead on the fitting--metal section, not on the inside of the rubber hose (it'll smear off and may become dislodged). Re-clamp your hose.

Allow to dry overnight after re-clamping--without sufficient dry time, you've actually lubricated the fitting and it'll blow off again immediately.

This normally fixes any issue with hoses blowing off.

    Thanks !

Actually the stock clamp on that hose that is embedded into the hose. Most of the folks I know who have had that blow off just cut it out and get a T-Bolt clamp to replace it. End of problems.

Actualy, my car was prototype for DeJon Dave's IC and piping kit for
HHR-SS. I think we just got the clamp a little off the end of TB. It is not
very deep and hose engagement is marginal.

    Thanks to all for help.
