    Open loop for SD tune?

I am thinkin about tuning my car in SD with a wideband... and am kind of afraid of my long term fuel trims deciding that my car isnt running right when i KNOW it is.... can I just make my car run in open loop all the time? pros? Cons? or maybe just disable ltft?

Many people disable LTFT's permanently. If you're running SD permanently and have tuned the VE and all the modifier tables properly, you will probably run more smoothly that way.

IMO LTFTs just seem to make things more complicated than they have to be. I always just disable them and run off STFTs and leave the long terms disabled.

    Yes turn off the LTFT's.

    Always run in OL? Why?

Now if your running in OL you don't use your O2's sensors period so now I guess you won't need them...realize I only tune in OL for tuning purposes BUT people usually enable CL again after getting things dialed in.

After you tune, put it back in closed loop and disable the LTFT's. You will still use the STFT's

LTIT's are Long Term Idle Trims.

The main thing that STFTs DO NOT affect is if you have some positive numbers they wont get added when you go WOT and screw up your fueling that you are commanding like positive LTFTs will.

No STFTs wont get added at WOT no matter what. As far as LTFTs go as long as you have a negative or zero LTFT then it wont be a factor at wot but if you have say a +4 LTFT before you go wot then that will carry over.
