Thread: O2 sensor tests not completing?

    O2 sensor tests not completing?

I am running catless right now, this is an off road vehicle, and have deleted all 'Sensor 2' codes by using the "3 - No Error Reported" while leaving the checkbox marked. I know it takes a little bit for all the tests to complete and the status to be ready, but after a month I have had 2-3 cold starts a day and 50+ miles a day, so you would think that it's gone thru enough heatcyles, startups, miles etc to finish the test.

Can anyone help me understand why these 2 tests (Oxygen Sensor and Oxygen Sensor Heater) are not completing even after deleting the codes and driving enough? Is there something else I'm missing here?

    Thanks

Oh jeez, is it really that simple...I feel ashamed for even asking if that's the answer. All this time I thought I had to have the checkboxes checked

I left all the boxes checked on mine, and it passes the readiness tests pretty quick. Are you sure you didn't miss one of them? Did you mess with anything else that might affect the checks from running? Post up your tune file.

Good point. There may be some further down, there are some 11xx codes for switching I think? Not sure. I know some have shown issues if the box was checked, but it sounds like it may not matter in this case.

From what I recall, you have a GTO, so make sure you set all these to "3" (leave the checkmark boxes stock for now, just to see):

    P0036
    P0054
    P0056
    P0060

    P0136
    P0137
    P0138
    P0140
    P0141

    P0156
    P0157
    P0158
    P0160
    P0161

There may or may not be the following for that calibration (if there is, HPT hasn't mapped them out yet):

    P2A01 (O2 Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Bank 2 Sensor 1)
    P2A04 (O2 Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Bank 2 Sensor 2)

    There may even be others.

I thought I looked over any Sensor 2 codes all the way down and made sure to have it checked and at 3. Dunno which other dtcs I need to adjust.

    Here's my tune

Yes it's a GTO...I can't actually check the file now, but I will look at each of those dtcs and make sure they are set.

It looks like you got them all. Try unchecking all of them now.

Because I'm catless, is there a reason to have it on without any cats?

I will try unchecking those now

Leave the test enabled, because it will impact your readiness checks and possibly pose a problem with passing emissions. Enable it, drive the car, and see if your O2 checks complete.
