    Can't connect to 2005 Corvette

There is a local 2005 Vette that ran into a problem today. After some WOT pulls it began to run like crap... I'm trying to connect my scanner to check for codes, but every time I do, it says it can't locate the VCM. The key is on, everything is connected (and reconnected), and I can take my laptop and cable to my Z06 and connect with no problem. Anybody have any ideas on where to go for trouble shooting? Is there a fuse for the OBD-II system?

Using the beta or public software?
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I blew my fuse for the OBDII connection on Saturday. The MPVI box did not show the green light. I plugged it into one of my other vehicles, and it lit up. In searching this forum, it was suggestion to look for a blown Cig Lighter fuse located behind the carpet on the passengers foot well.

This fuse was fine but the fuse that was blown was the labeled "REAR FOG/ALDL/TOP SW 10A". This is located in the bottom center section of the fuse panel. I replaced that and it solved my problem. There was a thread saying to look for a fuse labeled ALDL.

Just thought I would post that its not always the Cig Lighter fuse .... or at least not on my 2005 Corvette.

This was with the 2.22 scanner, because I get an error when I try to open the 2.23 scanner.

We disconnected the battery for about five minutes, and after reconnecting it, I was able to connect to the vehicle and scan it. If the engine was running, I could connect, but if the engine was off with the key on, I could not connect. The box would show a green power light, and every few seconds, the busy light would illuminate and then shut off.

I will tell him to check fuses in the interior panel. We tried yanking the fuse labeled GM LAN, but (I feel stupid saying this) couldn't really figure out how to pull it out... Is there some trick to those special box looking fuses?

Maybe the battery voltage was down?

It is a blown fuse, you would not be able to read the car with a Tech 2 either.

I'm not saying you're wrong (because frankly, I bet there's a blown fuse as well), but why would it allow it to connect after the battery is reset, or while the car is running?
