It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Then they are not compatible, the files MUST have the same operating system id to be able to do a segment swap.

All right I was able to get the segment swap. Is there anyway of getting around buying more credits. I have a 3 bar OS. All I am doing is trading transmissions. Here is my tunes.

Why exactly would you need to buy more credits? A segment swap does nothing more than swap the transmission segment from one file to another, it doesn't change the vcm id number. I assume you had someone else do the segment swap for you? Or did they just give you a file from some other vehicle?

Sounds like they screwed something up then. The two files you posted are completely different & from different vehicles, I have no idea what they did but it shouldn't be charging you additional credits if you already licensed the file & the custom operating system.

To me it sounds like they just gave you a different file that may or may not work for your application, not a segment swap.

As stated we can do segment swaps but we'd need the files & they must be compatible, just sending us files willy nilly aint gonna cut it.

Also, from what I can tell NEITHER of those files you posted have a 4L80e segment in them so nobody did a segment swap for you.

So you want to go from a manual file to an auto 4l60? A segment swap is NOT recommended in doing what you are asking, there are just TOO many changes to compensate in many cases. On the flip side you could run into issues with the vehicle &/or pcm if you do a write entire using the new operating system.

I've never had to mess with an auto transmission car... so sorry if this is a newb or dumb question.

I've got a local car that is an 4L60E Corvette. It was a 97, PCM got fried, so it was rewired and a 2002 PCM was installed. However, the PCM put in came from a manual car, and the transmission won't function properly. A local guy who uses Tunercat tried to make it work, but it's all jacked up.

To get it to work... would I start by just grabbing a stock file out of the repository for a 2002 automatic Corvette, and do a write entire?

You will have to start with a A4 tune for a vette or A4 pcm that's the only way it will work. I finally have mine done.

My recommendation would be to have the pcm flashed via tech 2 to an auto file, then reread, & tune away.

Repository will probably work but I wouldn't trust those files for anything other than comparison and would only use them as a last possible resort.
