    2008 Silverado 4.3 Auto Support?

I have an e-mail in to support, but just wanted to know if anyone on the board knows more than I do at this point. I have a friend with a 2008 Silverado 4.3 V6 Auto, and I cannot help him out with any tuning, vcm suite does not recognize the truck. Does anyone know when support MIGHT be available?

Also, got to thinking, would a 2007 4.3 Auto pcm work for an 08 truck? Or for now if there is no support, would taking an 08 v8 pcm and doing a swap to 07 4.3 settings work?

if it's a PCM we already support then it should be no problem. You should get a reply from support early next week.

So do you think an 07 4.3 pcm would be a better option than an 08 v8 with a segment swap?

TTT, So i was looking on the supported vehicles page, and there is support for 2007 4.3 Silverado, does that only include Gen III, or does that also include support for the 2007 NNBS Gen IV?

They use an unsupported E37 pcm
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Oh wow! really? I got an e-mail from support a few days ago stating no ETA, and probably not anytime soon. Well that is great news, so the 4.3's with the E37 ECM will be supported.

Would you prefer me to say a couple of weeks and then in a couple of weeks say a couple of more weeks? Dude I'll email you when its ready, emailing us isn't moving up anytimetables.

I hate giving eta's because it gets everyones hopes up for whatever that timespan is ie 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years but then if you don't meet that eta everyone is pissed off at you. I don't want thousands of people pissed of at me because I gave them an eta that wasn't met.

I just put everyones email in a hat(folder) that wants support for a specific pcm and then once we enter beta for it I email them.

I completely understand, I was just confused cause on this thread there was mention of somewhat of a timeline, so I was consfused. Anyway, sorry to a PITA, just wanted to get my stories straight.

Chris is correct in that pretty much everything is done but our software designer has a bit more work to do to implement reading into beta.

Alright now I feel a bit more confident in a "couple more weeks" eta

The software is in internal testing right now but we hope to have something available before our company meeting next week so *crosses fingers*...

First def was loosely based on our current E38 file so theres about 600 editable tables/constants/switches

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
